THE Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the dismissal of the mayor of Sindangan town in Zamboanga del Norte for grave misconduct for allowing cockfights during the celebration of the town fiesta.

The Ombudsman also ordered the perpetual disqualification of Mayor Rosendo Labadlabad, Sindangan village heads Antonio Mohametano of Bago village, Zosima de la Cerna of Calatunan village, Joselito Espinas of Ramon Magsaysay village, Myzandro Dagondong of Mandih village, and treasurer Rebecca Lafuente of Bago village from holding any government position, thus forfeiting their retirement benefits.
