Philippine sports' face of the year

If anyone can rightly claim the 'Athlete of the Year' title in the Philippines, it is unquestionably 2023's golden boy, Ernest John 'EJ' Obiena.

In sports, the year will go down as a historic one, not only for Obiena but the entire country, as the 28-year-old triumphantly raised the Philippine flag across many international competitions, exhibiting his perfected prowess in the men's pole vault division numerous times.
