PH-China remain deadlocked over joint oil exploration in WPS

TOKYO: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the Philippines and China remain deadlocked over the joint oil exploration in the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea), a project which has been shelved due to friction between Filipino and Chinese vessels in the disputed waters.

In an interview with Japanese media here on Saturday, Marcos said the Philippines is working to resolve the issue in the West Philippine Sea to start energy exploration projects before the Malampaya gas field runs out of supply.
