LATE diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders like sleep apnea could lead to more serious illnesses like heart disease, type 2 diabetes and stroke, an expert warned on Saturday.
Dr. Krislyn Panugayan, an internal medicine and sleep medicine specialist, said that sleep apnea is characterized by repeated cessation of breathing during sleep.
