AS we move forward in the aftermath of the pandemic, the travel industry faces rebuilding, reimagining and expanding. The pandemic severely impacted the global travel and tourism sector but is steadily recovering.

According to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), the global travel and tourism sector is projected to reach $9.5 trillion by 2023, only 5 percent below pre-pandemic levels in 2019. Revenge spending has driven the recovery of Philippine tourism in 2023. Domestic tourists surged by 50 percent year on year, and international tourist arrivals are expected to reach 4.8 million.
