Cebu City faces 250 million liter daily water supply deficit

MY SAY

TWO political camps are battling, is how a prominent resident of Cebu City puts the ongoing squabble over control of the city's water facilities. Erico Bucoy, a top trusted lieutenant of the assassinated chief of the communist New People's Army, Rolando Kintanar, says it's a fight between Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama and Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) Chairman Jose 'Joey' Daluz 3rd.

As things stand, exercising his duties in regard to the administration and operation of Cebu City's water facilities, Mayor Rama appointed retired general Melquiades 'Mel' Feliciano as chairman of the MCWD board of directors together with lawyers Earl Bunachita and Danilo Ortiz, who were retained as board members.
