Makers of Calasiao 'puto' seek to export products

CALASIAO, Pangasinan: More than 50 years after this town's famous bite-sized puto (rice cake) hit the sidewalks, officials here are still trying to figure out how the delectable product may be exported to other countries, especially in the United States.

'It's been our dream to export our product,' said Mayor Kevin Roy Macanlalay at the sidelines of the Puto Festival here last Monday, December 11.
