I GREW up with Palestinians while in the Philippine Embassy school in Jeddah and have grieved since October and even before for the horrendous conflict that has caused anguish to my classmate Rami and millions of other lives fleeing in uncertainty.
It is overwhelmingly welcome news to hear that the Philippines voted for the UN ceasefire resolution after its earlier abstention. We are, after all, a capital of the peace movement. We are a model for peace talks around the world in resolving the Muslim insurgent conflict in Mindanao. We are one country that authored the localized orders to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security.
