A FULL-SCALE war between China and the Philippines is still far from happening despite Beijing's continuous harassment and aggressive behavior in the West Philippine Sea (WPS), a maritime security expert said Tuesday.
"China's actions are calibrated because it knows that risking the possibility of a conflict will put them at a disadvantage economic- and diplomatic-wise," Ateneo School of Government professor retired Rear Adm. Rommel Jude Ong said during Tuesday's public briefing.
