THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) is ready to defend its decision to ban technology provider Smartmatic Philippines (Smartmatic) from all procurement biddings of the commission amid moves by the latter to question the ruling before the Supreme Court.
"This is expected. The Comelec is willing and ready to defend its position. At the end of the day, the SC has the final say on the matter," Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said on Tuesday.
