Lawmaker warns Meralco may lose franchise

SURIGAO del Sur 2nd District Rep. Johnny Pimentel warned that the franchise of the Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) may be canceled because of its failure to submit annual financial and operation reports, which are required by law.

The vice chairman of the House Committee on Legislative Franchises claimed that Meralco submitted reports only from 2018 to 2022.
