THE Supreme Court has directed Vice President Sara Duterte and other government officials to respond to a petition that sought to declare as unconstitutional the transfer of P125 million in confidential funds to the Office of the Vice President (OVP).
In a notice issued on November 14 but only made public on Monday, the Court en banc also ordered Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin and Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman to comment on the petition filed on November 17 by legal and economic experts led by former Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman and 1987 Constitution framer Christian Monsod, former Finance undersecretary Maria Cielo Magno, and lawyer Barry Gutierrez, the spokesman for former vice president Maria Leonor "Leni" Robredo.
