THE electric vehicle (EV) age has changed the status quo in the automotive industry. Whatever lead everyone had for the past 100 years with the internal combustion engine (ICE) is going to be erased once the world says 'no' to cars powered by fossil fuels.

Hyundai, however, is one of those brands that were able to rethink how to build a car that's centered around batteries. That innovative mindset when it comes to making EVs from scratch by South Korea's biggest automaker is front and center in the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 — arguably one of the best cars I've reviewed this year.
