MANILA, Philippines: A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck Surigao del Sur early Monday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs director Teresito Bacolcol said the tremor occurred around 3:49 a.m. some 67 kilometers northeast of Cagwait town.
