THE peso rebounded on Friday following the release of positive economic data, and the stock market also rose as investors hunted for bargains, analysts said.

The currency strengthened by 8-and-a-half centavos to P55.4 against the dollar while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) advanced by 21.45 points, or 0.34 percent, to end the week at 6,245.18.
