THE government is pushing through with next month's auction for the P170.6-billion Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) modernization project despite a recommendation that it be pushed back a month.

"Yes, there are prospective bidders who have requested an extension of the bid submission date," a Department of Transportation (DoTr) official said when asked to comment on the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) having proposed an extension.
