THE intervention of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has been formally sought in large-scale quarry operations in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.
In a letter to President Marcos dated November 24, local environmental watchdog Green Dream (Luntiang Pangarap) also echoed the demand made by Indigenous peoples in Zamboanga del Sur, particularly the claimants of the Labangan-Pagadian-Sominot Ancestral Domain, to implement a five-year moratorium on quarrying operations to allow for the restoration of the ecological state of Labangan River.
