69th ANMSEC pushes for safer, smarter, sustainable mining

AT the recently concluded 69th Annual Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC), Luis Sarmiento, president of the Philippine Mine Safety and Environment Association (PMSEA), highlighted the mining companies' readiness and capability to bolster their sustainability initiatives, and in the process, increase their contribution to both local and national economic development.

The 3-day mining exhibit, which ran from November 14-16, featured 144 companies, mostly suppliers of equipment, exploration experts, and a host of other essentials in mining operations.
