IN the days since the dispute between property giant Megaworld Corp. and construction firm Datem Inc. boiled over into a public controversy with a Quezon City judge's granting Datem's request to slap a writ of preliminary attachment on tens of billions of pesos' worth of ongoing Megaworld projects, it seems that Datem has discovered that it has kicked the proverbial hornet's nest. Apart from Megaworld's announcing that it will soon file a multibillion lawsuit and possibly even criminal charges against its wayward one-time contractor, a number of other notable property and construction firms have come out publicly with statements of support for Megaworld, emphasizing that their own business with the Tan-led company has been proper and productive.
