TRANSPORT group Malayang Alyasan ng Bus Employees and Laborers (Manibela) on Saturday warned that it would prolong its strike if the government insists on the December 31 deadline for the consolidation of jeepney drivers and operators franchises under the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).

Manibela began its three-day transport strike last Wednesday. Reports indicate that around 150,000 jeepney drivers and operators nationwide are expected to join the extended strike.
