MANILA, Philippines: Albay First District Rep. Edcel Lagman said that the entry of the International Criminal Court into the country to investigate alleged crimes related to the previous administration's war on drugs would not constitute a "surrender of sovereignty" but an exercise of it.

His comments came after Vice President Sara Duterte called on members of the House of Representatives to "respect the position" of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in regard to the jurisdiction of the ICC in the country.
