UP dethrones Ateneo, makes 3rd straight appearance in UAAP finals

MANILA, Philippines: The University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons dethroned the Ateneo Blue Eagles with a 57-46 victory on Saturday, November 25, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and marched to their third straight Finals appearance in the UAAP men's basketball tournament.

Reigning Most Valuable Player Malick Diouf collected 12 points, 16 rebounds, three blocks, and three steals to lead UP, which capitalized on its win-once advantage to boot out its last season's Finals tormentor Ateneo.
