LTO suspends license of motorist in Mandaluyong road rage

MANILA, Philippines:The Land Transportation Office (LTO) suspended the license of a motorist in a road rage incident this week that injured two people pending the results of an investigation. LTO Chief Vigor D. Mendoza 2nd also issued a show cause order to the the 53-year old motorist who was arrested by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic enforcers after he allegedly sideswiped the motorcycle driven by a rider from Angkas, a Transportation Network Vehicle Service (TNVS), in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday. The rider and his passenger were injured, according to police reports. An investigation by the LTO-National Capital Region (NCR), headed by Regional Director Roque Verzosa 3rd, showed that the vehicle in the incident was a Suzuki Wagon that was registered to a bank.

The driver has been asked to explain his side on alleged violations of Republic Act 4136: Reckless Driving (Section 48), Duty of a driver in case of accident (Section 55), and Improper Person to Operate a Vehicle (Section 27-a).
