Arca tops blitz at World Youth Chess

(UPDATE) MANILA, Philippines: FIDE Master Christian Gian Karlo Arca of the Philippines topped the blitz tournament at the FIDE World Youth Chess Championship on Tuesday at the Pala Dean Martin in Montesilvano, Italy.

The 14-year-old student of Dasmariñas Integrated High School in Cavite scored 8.5 points in nine rounds to rule the side event of the most prestigious age-group chess tournament in the world.
