(UPDATE) THE Philippines and the United States began joint maritime and air patrols in the West Philippine Sea on Tuesday as the longtime allies stepped up cooperation in the face of Beijing's aggressive moves in the South China Sea.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the three-day joint activity aims to enhance the interoperability of both military forces in the conduct of maritime and air patrols.
