Miriam remembered in our streets and in our hearts

LAST Friday, November 10, two contiguous Quezon City streets were named for the late senator Miriam Defensor Santiago. I was there in spirit due to a commitment in Baguio.

Wherever I was, however, I was brought back to 1992 when Miriam made her extraordinary and unprecedented run for the presidency, not from the legislature, nor the Executive department or the judiciary, though she had served in the latter two, but as a private citizen who had left a position in the Cabinet.
