MANILA, Philippines: At least 500 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) based in two Metro Manila facilities were transferred to Mindanao to decongest the prisons, the Bureau of Corrections said in a report released on Thursday.
A total of 450 male PDLs from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa and 50 female PDLs from the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong were transferred to the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) and the CIW in Mindanao on November 8, according to BuCor.
