MANILA, Philippines: An American and two others were arrested for allegedly creating fake accounts on social media of top police officials. BGen. Redrico Maranan, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, identified the suspects as John Santos Green, his wife, Donna Liza Pangilinan, 43, and their daughter, a minor, of Caloocan City.
Maranan said they were accused of soliciting donations under his name and that of BGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief. THE QCPD carried out an operation following a tip-off from an unnamed witness who informed the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) about the alleged illegal activity of Green. Maj. Don Don Llapitan , CIDU chief , and his men first arrested Pangilinan and the child late last week after Green managed to escape when his wife and daughter blocked the lawmen.
