WHILE the Department of Transportation (DoTR) has cancelled three multibillion projects with China, the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) signed a P3 billion deal with the Chinese for the construction of a four-lane bridge in Davao City.
The P3.126 billion civil works contract for the construction of the Davao River Bridge, also known as Bucana Bridge in Davao City, was signed on Nov. 3, 2023 by DPWH Senior Undersecretary Emil Sadain and China Road and Bridge Corp. (CRBC) general manager Ren Xiaopeng.
