MANILA, Philippines: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday night departed for the United States (US) as part of Manila's continuing efforts to "further reinforce our already strong bond" with Washington.

In a pre-departure speech before boarding his flight, Marcos said he was invited by US President Joseph Biden to participate in the 30th Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting and related activities in San Francisco, California.
