Muntinlupa lauds young officials in 2023 Boys and Girls Week

A WEEK after the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, the City of Muntinlupa was already developing the next generation of leaders.
The city government initiated November 6 the annual observance of Boys and Girls Week, which ran until November 10, with on-the-job training and exposure to various local government projects and programs part of the weeklong itinerary.

'We celebrate our Little Officials as they take the first step to understanding the civil service. May you all be inspired in serving the community, not only in the future, but even today, while you are still young,' Mayor Ruffy Biazon said.
A total of 55 schools — 20 elementary and eight public high schools, and 27 private institutions — participated in this year's edition of Boys and Girls Week.
The schools were assigned to four separate 'districts,' the first two composed of public elementary schools, District 3 for the private elementary schools, and the fourth district reserved for the high school level students.
From November 6 to 9, each district's Little Officials assumed their day in office, learning firsthand the functions of the local government's executive, legislative and even judicial branches.
There were also visits to various city government projects, such as the Museo ng Muntinlupa, culminating in a whole day tour of the city on November 10.
Boys and Girls Week is a yearly project of Muntinlupa that aims to expose young students to the daily workings of the civil service and inspire them to be community leaders.
It was initiated by then-vice mayor Jimmy Fresnedi during the term of former mayor Ignacio Bunye.
