FAN GIRL

In April of 2019, in the middle of a Rolling Stones tour, then 75-year-old Mick Jagger had to get heart surgery. Aortic valve replacement, to be exact. A few months later, he turned 76 and got back on the road — singing and dancing throughout a three-hour set.

Debbie Harry is 77 and still goes on tour with Blondie. Cher, 77, and Madonna, 65, do shows with costumes and make up attempting to look half their age. I just saw Lucinda Williams, now 70 and post-stroke, do a show in jeans, a t-shirt and denim jacket. She said she can't play guitar at the moment but assures her audience she will again.
