MIP award boosts Ahanmisi's confidence

MANILA, Philippines: While last Sunday marked another historic night in the PBA with June Mar Fajardo winning a new record seventh league Most Valuable Player trophy, the weekend also came as a new high for Maverick Ahanmisi as far as his own pro career is concerned.

The 32-year-old Ahanmisi took home the Most Improved Player award during the Annual Leo Awards, beating a stable of hard working candidates led by Barangay Ginebra forward Jamie Malonzo, NLEX wingman Don Trollano and NorthPort's Arvin Tolentino.
