Japan to buy Coast Guard 5 more ships

THE Department of Transportation (DoTr) on Sunday said that the Japanese government would shoulder the purchase of five more ships for the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

It said Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida mentioned the funding support during his address at the joint special session of the Senate and House of Representatives on Saturday, November 4, where he also said that Japan has already provided 12 ships to the Philippines.
