Israel strikes Gaza anew, rejects pause in fighting

Blinken eyes to contain war in visit to Jordan

PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES: United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken began meetings with his Arab counterparts in Jordan on Saturday as he seeks to mitigate the nearly monthlong Israel-Hamas war after the Jewish state resisted his calls for a humanitarian pause.

The Israeli army said its ground forces had operated in southern Gaza overnight, after deadly strikes hit an ambulance convoy and a school-turned-refugee shelter in the besieged Palestinian territory.
