ARMED Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. said on Saturday that the coastal radar systems that will be funded by the Japanese government will be a vital addition to the AFP's maritime defense capability and will bolster its ability to monitor and protect the country's extensive coastline.
"This is a significant step forward in the partnership between the Philippines and Japan," Brawner said in a statement.
