SOCIAL Welfare and Development Secretary Rexlon "Rex" Gatchalian announced earlier this week that the department is currently developing the Food Stamp Program (FSP) for rollout beginning in mid-2024. This is a welcome development and can be a substantial tool to help alleviate poverty and hunger in the Philippines, progress on which has been largely stalled since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic three years ago.
