LEGAZPI CITY: The Philippine Tobacco Growers Association (PTGA) and the National Federation of Tobacco Farmers Association and Cooperatives (Naftac) have urged the Senate to immediately pass Senate Bill 2432, or the "Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act," to protect the tobacco industry and thousands of tobacco farmers from being affected by rampant smuggling.
PTGA President Saturnino Distor said all agricultural industries should be protected, as the threat of rampant smuggling continues to threaten the livelihood of local farmers and millions of dependents who rely on these industries for their income and sustenance.
