MANILA, Philippines: The Philippine National Police (PNP) will lower its security alert following the conclusion of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) and "Undas," gradually shifting its attention to the Yuletide Season.

Col. Jean Fajardo, PNP Public Affairs Office chief, said the red alert will be lowered to heightened alert although the 117,600 policemen who were deployed for the BSKE and Undas will remain for post election duties in critical areas and areas of concern and will start patrol missions as the Christmas season nears.
