THE New Era University (NEU) in Quezon City received 5,000 pairs of basketball shoes and 150 basketball balls from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China on October 27 during the visit of Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian and Special Envoy of the Philippines to China Benito Techico, a day after the NEU Hunters won the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) 21U championship.

Two milestone events also took place in the NEU Main Campus: the formal opening of the newly renovated NEU Gym and the Integrated School Covered Court and the opening ceremonies of the Happy Basketball Turnover.
