SOUTH Pacific International Container Terminal (SPICT), a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI), bolstered the operations in the Port of Lae, Papua New Guinea, with two brand new Mitsui hybrid rubber-tired gantries (RTG).
The hybrid RTGs, powered by a combination of a smaller diesel engine and lithium-ion battery, will contribute to more efficient landside operation, resulting in faster turnaround time for outside trucks and reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
