Trafalgar Day celebrated in Manila

The Manila British Club celebrated the 218th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar at a gala dinner at the Makati residence of the British ambassador, Laure Beaufils.

The battle, fought on October 21, 1805 off the Cape of Trafalgar, offshore from Cadiz, Spain, is one of the most famous naval battles in British history. Its hero was Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson, who led Britain to victory over a combined French and Spanish fleet.
