(UPDATE) ALBAY Gov. Edcel Greco Lagman announced a state of climate emergency in the province of Albay on Tuesday, October 24, coinciding with the stopover of climate activists from the province who were participating in the Climate Walk 2023 commemorating the 10th anniversary of Typhoon "Yolanda."
The Albay government committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating global warming in accordance with the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 C.
