THE NBA 2023-2024 season will start in a few days. This is the time when we make wild predictions, some with solid basis, and others, simply a figment of a hoop nut's imagination.
Here are some of the interesting hot takes on what may transpire in the long, grueling, but highly entertaining season ahead.
Ben Simmons proves critics wrong
Ben Simmons has played in the offseason, and there are some very slight flashes of his old brilliance. It's not entirely a hot take when you consider how harsh the critics were on him. If he even made a decent comeback, this would already be achieved.
Dishing out seven assists and playing defense, that's basically his game at its peak. What would truly be shocking is if he played at an All-Star level again. That would precipitate other wild takes regarding Simmons: one where a contender trades for him as a piece for their playoff run.
Of course, that team would be the Los Angeles Lakers, since Simmons is a Klutch client. Klutch Sports is run by Rich Paul, one of LeBron James' closest friends. Paul is also famous for dating singer Adele. In the playoffs, the Lakers may need someone like Ben Simmons.
