LA TRINIDAD, Benguet: Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. led the destruction of P565.1 million worth of confiscated illegal drugs, including uprooted marijuana plants, during the celebration of the 122nd Police Service Anniversary at Camp Dangwa here on Thursday afternoon.
Acorda, together with BGen. David Peredo Jr., regional director of Police Regional Office-Cordillera; MGen. Jon Arnaldo, commander of Area Police Command-Northern Luzon; Brig. Gen Danilo Benavides, assistant division commander of the Philippine Army's 5th Infantry Division; Commodore Roger Viduya, assistant superintendent of the Philippine Navy; and PDEA-Cordillera Director Julius Paderes held torches and simultaneously set fire to the assorted illegal drugs.
