Navy sets up outpost in Batanes

THE Philippine Navy on Wednesday inaugurated the naval detachment on Mavulis Island, Itbayat, Batanes, an initiative to safeguard the northern part of the country against foreign intruders.

Present during the occasion were chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Philippine Maritime and Admiralty Sen. Francis Tolentino, Philippine Navy chief Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci, Northern Luzon Command chief Lt. Gen. Fernyl Buca and Batanes Gov. Marilou Cayco.
