LAST Friday, October 13, Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) chairman, lawyer Monalisa Dimalanta, joined a number of editors and columnists at the Pandesal Forum, a frequent and interesting series of media roundtables with Philippine newsmakers hosted by the Kamuning Bakery and Café in Quezon City. In an environment where we have become accustomed to politicians and government officials' statements riddled with spin and forced optimism, the candor of Dimalanta is refreshing; more to the point, it perfectly reflects the character of the agency she leads, which is quickly becoming a standout example of how all government agencies should work.
