OMSC hosts weeklong 7th cultural, arts festival

THE Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC) will host the 7th Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (Strasuc) Culture and Arts Festival on Oct. 16-20, 2023.
OMSC President Elbert Edaniol told the Manila Times in an interview that the college accepted the hosting to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Occidental Mindoro province.
He said that this year's theme, 'Pag-usahon para sa Sining: A Celebration of Multiculturalism,' echoes their collective effort to come together for the exhibit of our diverse cultures through the arts.
He added this annual regional gathering stands as a testament to their one accord, to honor and celebrate their diverse origins.
'Indeed, the Strasuc Culture and the Arts Festival serves as a platform for us to understand and respect each other's unique identities,' said Edaniol.
Edaniol said, 'This is the first time the college will host a culture and arts festival. This is a one-year preparation, and we look forward to having a very successful hosting.'
Edaniol added that the college will house more than 800 delegates from the 11 visiting state universities and colleges, including Batangas State University (BatSU), Cavite State University (CavSU), Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU), Marinduque State College, Mindoro State University (MinSU), Palawan State University (PSU), Romblon State University (RSU), Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), University of Rizal System (URS), and Western Philippines University (WPU).
