SEC 'hurt' by criticism of proposed fee hikes

THE Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) was 'hurt' by a joint letter filed by at least 11 business groups opposing the proposed adjustment of regulatory fees, its chairman said on Thursday.

SEC Chairman Emilio Aquino told reporters that the letter 'did hurt us' and that he first learned about it after its publication in multiple media outlets.
