Israel regains control of the Gaza strip from the Hamas militants after an assault in early October. Meanwhile, attacks from the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah against Israel have also started. Israel Ambassador to the Philippines, Ilan Fuss, echoed his country's goal of a strong and decisive end to the war. He extends his condolences to two Filipinos who were killed during the attacks.
